So I think I may have figured out a workout schedule that is what I like to do and will work for my goals of having an upper body workout, lower body workout, yoga and cardio. Here’s the following schedule that I’ve been trying to do:

Monday: Upper body

Tuesday: Yoga

Wednesday: Lower body

Thursday: Yoga

Friday: Cardio on the rowing machine.

I’m continuing the virtual 5Ks. The last two virtual 5Ks on the rowing machine have been under 26 minutes making them my fastest 5Ks on the rowing machine ever. I have this schedule because we also have the fun runs on Saturdays and I really don’t want to be sore for the runs. I know, from personal experience, that sometimes having an activity the next day will help with the soreness. When I went to church camp for a week as a teenager we went white water rafting one day and my legs were sore and the next day we went bike riding and my legs were better. Then there have been times when I started the squat challenge and my legs were sore for the first few days and then had a rest day and my legs were better. My goal is to lose body fat, gain lean muscle, work on strength and flexibility and with the fun runs cross the finish line and have fun and work one improving with each run. I am curious to see if the schedule will help with the fun runs.

This morning it was foggy outside when I took the kids to school. I decided to go to the cemetery for a walk. My goal is to walk at least a mile but today I didn’t have my normal walking shoes on, I had to pee and I was hungry so I got almost a mile in today. I did stop in at Sam’s Club and grabbed a few things. Sam’s Club is always an expensive trip no matter if I go alone or go with one or both of the kids. I still have time to get a quick upper body workout in before I go get the kids. It’s quiet here and I wanted to blog.

Last week I wasn’t able to exercise on Monday and Tuesday because I had to pick Wyatt up early and I wanted to get the kitchen cleaned on Monday before mom got home. Wyatt and I got home just as mom did. She pulled onto our road before I did but waited for me to back into our driveway. Wednesday Bodyfit by Amy posted an upper body workout video that I did and I did a lower body workout that I created afterwards. I did one round of the lower body workout instead of my usual 3 rounds. I have a little book that I have for things like 30 day challenges and other workouts. My left side is a bit weaker than my right side and I want to improve on that. Consistency is key for anything.

Mom is going this weekend to stay at my aunt’s house for about 6 weeks. In that time period I will be on my exercise schedule and I will also be meal prepping my meals like I did while she was on vacation. The kids don’t always eat what I cook and I don’t always feel like cooking so meal prepping when, a lot of the time, it’s going to be just me eating the food is going to help so much. Today at Sam’s Club I did pick up a pork tenderloin that I had somebody slice for me. I can get so many meals out of that. What I do is I put 2 per pack in a freezer bag and when I do plan on cooking it I will pull out as many packs as I need for that meal with some leftovers. When I meal prep I usually meal prep for 2 or 3 days at a time so I don’t get bored with what I’m eating. I also don’t batch prep stuff either. I like the convenience of having my meals put together. I bought a container of Mediterranean pasta salad that I thought about using the chicken tenders with. I just realized that I forgot the case of diced tomatoes. Sam’s Club is close enough to where I can just stop in before going to get the kids. It’s cheaper to get the case of like 12 than it is to get 12 individual cans from the store. I probably won’t be making spaghetti sauce until October anyways with mom going to Aunt Gina’s house. I have some in the fridge and the freezer so we are good for this week. If I’m having pasta I’ll use from the 3 pound box that I got at Walmart. The bigger boxes are sometimes cheaper than getting the 1 pound box.
