The kids are officially on spring break. They get a little over 2 weeks this year. Elijah has a few virtual visits with his father over spring break and I am working on seeing when I can schedule one for May. They have one day off for Memorial Day at the end of May and they they are done school a few days later and those days are half days of school.
All of the virtual races that I had wanted to complete in February and March have been completed. I have more that I want to complete once the kids go back to school at the end of spring break. The ones I completed were between 2.2 miles and 4 miles. 3 of them are 5Ks. I completed the 4 mile race yesterday on the rowing machine and I do not think I will go farther than a 5K for the rest of this year. The races I completed on the rowing machine are: Groundhog Day (2.2 miles), Leap Year (2.29 miles), Lucky Day (3.17 miles), Shamrock and Roll (3.17 miles), Pi Day (3.14) and Squad Goals (May 4th which is the 4 mile race). The videos for those races are up on my vlogging channel on YouTube. Here's the link to my vlogging channel: https://www.youtube.com/@BeforeTheFIt_Vlogs/featured I hope you like my videos, subscribe and hit the bell to receive notifications. I am trying to reach 500 subscribers by the end of June and then 1,000 subscribers by the end of the year.
The virtual races that I am going to complete while the kids are in school are all going to be 5Ks. They are: Be Mine, Wibbly Wobbly Timey Whimey Stuff, As You Wish, and 2 Memorial Day races. One a week for 5 of the 6 weeks the kids are back to school. I am not going to be doing a virtual race the last week of school because like I mentioned earlier they are half days. I'm not completely sure what time the kids are getting done school those 3 days. June and most of July the 5ks are going to be put on hold because the kids will be home. The kids go back to school July 22. The first two weeks I am going to do both of the 4th of July races on the rowing machine. I counted the number of weeks they'll have from the first day to Christmas vacation and they will have 19 weeks of school. So my goal is to complete 19 5Ks on the rowing machine while the kids are in school. Once the kids go back to school after Christmas vacation I'll figure out what my next set of races are going to be.
I have signed Wyatt up for at least 3 fun runs. He's already had one a week and a half ago at the airport and he wants to do the 5K next year. He'll be too old for the fun run. He wants me to complete the 5K with him next year so that's what I will be working on. The next fun run is on Saturday at the stables and then the third one is at the end of April and it's downtown where we live. The third one is the closest and he's been signed up for it the longest. Mom picked up the packet for the first fun run and she'll be picking up the packet for the fun run on Saturday. It's at Fleet Feet and while I want to go get myself a new pair of shoes from there she's closer since it's by her work.
While the kids are in school for the rest of this school year and into the next school year I want to work on using the rowing machine at least once a week. While the kids are on their many breaks from school I want to work on improving my walking distance/time by like going to the park and going hiking or just going on a walk. One of my goals is to do in person 5Ks and have that experience. I want to do my first in person 5K on Thanksgiving with a Turkey Trot. Wyatt says he will join me. He has enough energy to do so.
