Merry Christmas y'all!! I hope everybody has had a great day today.
This month's virtual race is called Santa's Big Day. The goal of this race since I don't know what the weather is going to be like this month is to get as many miles as possible. I am up to 8.88 miles so far. I have until Sunday to get more miles in. I am so glad that Wyatt and I did go on a hike yesterday because it's been raining all day long. I am working on uploading that video. He wanted to go to the sand dunes to use his Mega Grave Digger. This past Wednesday we took Elijah's friend Dexter to Target to go shopping with a cop. I have never heard of it and I didn't know that it was a thing. Elijah went with Dexter and the cop. Wyatt and I went to look at toys. I look up to do one of my rounds of safety check and I see Elijah pushing a buggy and a cop with him. OK cool. Then one of the workers sees Wyatt and asked if Wyatt wanted to go shopping too and he said yes. There were two mystery mudder monster trucks he wanted and he also wanted the garbage truck he was playing with. She said she would come back with a buggy and puts 2 lanyards that have the gift cards and I look at the amount so I know our budget and can work around it. Plus I was curious and didn't want to be rude to ask how much everybody was getting. Anyways each lanyard has a $100 gift card and Wyatt has 2 of them. It's a lot but I know Wyatt and he'll spend it all. So he gets his name tag sticker and buggy and he puts the garbage truck he's playing with and we go back to the monster trucks and he gets the mystery mudder monster trucks plus a few other packs of garbage trucks. Since Christmas is a few days away at this point I tell him to find something for Elijah and my mom for Christmas and he does. He's at about $95, give or take, if my math is right. We see Spot the dog and Wyatt gets his picture taken and is photobombed by a cop and that cop goes shopping with Wyatt and I let him know about how much he has spent and as we are walking Wyatt gets another lanyard with another $100. We do see Elijah at one point and he is shopping with a cop too and has baseball, football and wrestling cards in his buggy. I tell him to look and see if there's anything he can get for my mom and Wyatt while he's shopping. So I continue on with Wyatt and he gets the Mega Grave Digger and some more monster trucks. The cop says let's go to the register and see how much we have spent. OK great. We go and everything gets rung up and he's at $258 and some change. Wyatt on the way to the register sees a Megalodon RC car that he wants if he has money left. So at the register he's under budget and the cop asks if he wants to go get the truck and he says yes so the two of them go and they come back with the RC car and 2 more monster trucks. He's at $301.88 which for all that he got is pretty good. I say I can pay what's over the $300 and they said hey have more gift cards. I don't know if all of the gift cards got spent that they had left over but given the opportunity I would have also gone shopping and grabbed a few things for me. Target has this one brand of dotted journals that I want to try and I would have picked up some hair care and skin care products and a binder that was popular when I was growing up. You know the fabric ones that have the zippers. There's a purple on that I want. Elijah also picked out 2 15 pound dumbbells for me that Cassey Ho from Blogilates designed for Target. He let me open them up early. I am super grateful that got them for me. I'll be using them in the near future for my workouts. The boys were really blessed to get to be able to do the shopping with a cop and for the amount of money they have gotten.
For Christmas Wyatt did get mostly monster trucks. He got a hoodie, 2 shirts and a sweatshirt with monster trucks on them and he got a remote control dog. He's seen the videos with Aibo in them and it's not quite that dog but it's one you can get from like Amazon that's a fraction of the price. HE loves it so that's all that counts. Elijah got some fishing stuff including a mystery tackle box and a wrestling themed Monolopy game. He got a few hat and some sleeves. They both got some smaller things too. I got some new jammies, an ice cream maker, 8 quart crockpot (thanks dad!) and a socket set like what mom got either last year or the year before. I told her I wanted and needed a set and she forgot but got it anyways. I've been using hers and now I have my own set to keep in the truck. I have an extremely small set and it's not big enough to go on Wyatt's bike when it needs fixed. My dad did his yearly Walmart gift card lottery. 3 of the gift cards have $25 and one has $100. Mom got the $100 one again. This is the second time she won the big one. Wyatt got it last year. Eventually me and Elijah will get it. I'm happy to have gotten the gift card. I wasn't expecting it since he did get me the crockpot. I would have been happy with just the crockpot. I am going to wait until the boys are back in school next week to go to Walmart. I'm not quite sure what to get yet. I have 2 new kitchen appliances.
The turkey and stuffing are about done in the oven. I just need to fix the sides of mashed potatoes, gravy and asparagus. I'll sautee the aspargus really quickly with some butter and some seasoning.
