Life Update and Goals

So quite a few things have happened since my last blog. The first thing was I was admitted into the hospital shortly after posting the blog. For a few days I had been having migraines. I had 3 within 4 days and that’s not normal for me. I rarely get a migraine and most of them are from not having caffeine and I had been caffeinated those days. On top of the migraines I had fever and chills. Then the day I went into the ER I had a couple of times where I felt like I was going to pass out. We were dog sitting and the first time was first thing in the morning while taking the dog out and then again right after posting the blog. I was sitting at the kitchen table blogging and got up and barely made it to my bed. I laid there and I wasn’t feeling any better and ended up with another migraine and took some medicine and it wasn’t getting any better either. I called mom. At the hospital they did a chest X-ray and that was clear and they took a crap ton of bloodwork. They found that my red and white blood cells were low. I had been struggling with my iron for a while now. I had a CT scan done of my head. A few days after I got out of the hospital I had gotten the test results of my bloodwork and I had some kind of virus and it showed that I was immune to it because I had gotten at some point in my life. I don’t know when. It’s one of those viruses that are transmitted by fluids so I really don’t know when or where I could have gotten it.

Then the kids started school in July and the first day of school my truck stalled in the middle of the road. Fortunately I was able to get it safely to a gas station after what felt like forever. It was the panic. I had gone to Walmart earlier that day and picked up some pizzas for dinner and Jaime picked up Elijah from school. Mom followed me home. We filled the coolant up and things were going well until about a week and a half later and I felt the truck starting to jerk. Elijah’s theory, which I like the best, is maybe it was a pothole but it felt different. I filled it back up with coolant and took it to an auto body shop that a guy from church owns. He replaced the reservoir and it was running fine for about a week and a half and I felt that it lose a bit of power before regaining power and it started jerking again. I safely made it to Elijah’s school and home again and parked it for over 24 hours until I drove it to the dealership yesterday and mom traded it in and got herself a new car. I am now driving her truck. I have mixed emotions about driving her vehicle because she’s a smoker and I am not. She’s had the truck for 8 years and has smoked in it since day 1 and it gives me a headache. I am grateful to have a vehicle that runs and hasn’t given any problems or causes my anxiety to go thru the roof just thinking about it.

On top of the truck issues my Fitbit decided that it was going to come apart. I had originally ordered a cheap smartwatch that I am going to send back because yesterday  mom gave me the go ahead to order a new Fitbit. I am grateful and relieved because it means I’ll have a brand that I know and love and won’t have to download or learn a new app. I ordered a Fitbit Charge 6. It’s not exactly the one I want but it’s the one mom can afford. I also found some stretchy bands to go with it that were on sale and with a coupon. So now I can return the other one when it gets here and get my money back from that. I had a little bit from Jaime and doing a notary gig. My current Fitbit is a Versa 3 and while it still works, which I am grateful, it is being held together by tape. I’ll be happy when the new one comes in. As of right now it’s saying it’ll be here today and it’s out for delivery!! I ordered a second set of bands that will be here on Tuesday. I like having options and a variety of colors.

It’s officially fun run season. Wyatt and I have a bunch of fun runs scheduled between now and the end of November. Unfortunately due to having truck problems we had to miss the 3K color run that we had signed up for. As of right now Wyatt doesn’t realize we miss the fun run as I didn’t mention it to him. I did tell Elijah as he was going to go with us since it’s on a military base. We have a 1 mile fun run coming up in 3 weeks at the same place. There’s an added bonus to that one but I’m not going to mention it here. I will get into the added bonus later on.

As far as my weight goes I am down 15.3 pounds from my heaviest. I lost 1.1 pounds last week. My weekly weigh ins are on Saturdays. Back when Sparkpeople was still as website there were 8 week challenges to lose 5% of your body weight and weigh ins were always on Saturdays. This past week I did go on 2 walks that were over a mile long each.

Mom came back from vacation on Monday and left yesterday  to go house sitting for the next 7 weeks. While she is on vacation or house sitting I don’t cook every single day. I batch prep some food to last me like 2 or 3 days. I’ll cook chicken or steak/beef in different ways to keep it from getting boring. Last night I made my first Thrive Market order. I didn’t go overboard but got a few snack items for me and the kids and some rice. Use the link: http://thrv.me/W1jURt to get $40 off your first purchase. I will also get $40 off my next purchase and that would be ever so helpful.

My goals are to lose as much weight as I safely can between now and my 40th birthday at the end of September and that’s about 12 pounds and to also safely lose as much weight as I can between now and the end of the year and that’s about 38 pounds. In general it is recommended to lose 1-2 pounds a week. I am going to focus on protein and exercising. In September there’s a 1 mile tutus for cancer fun run that Wyatt and I are doing, in October Wyatt is doing 2 different kids fun runs, and in November Wyatt and I are doing two 1 mile fun runs. My goal is to at least be able to jog the second fun run in November. Losing weight, building muscle and working on endurance is going to help with that. The kids are back in school. I got a notification from Facebook that the monthly yoga that I have been doing on the 4th Wednesday of the month has been cancelled for August, September and October. I emailed the instructor but haven’t heard anything back from her yet about if it’s actually cancelled or not. I am going to attempt to go this month and see if it’s cancelled. If it is I’ll go to The Fresh Market or walk around where it’s located at or go out and do something for about an hour or so. I really have been enjoying the yoga classes. I can always do yoga at home with YouTube videos but it’s been nice just showing up and not have to worry about picking a video.

At the end of the month  I am having surgery on my face. There is something in my sinus cavity that isn’t supposed to be there. I don’t know how long it’s been in there or what could have caused it. I did get hit by a baseball on that side of the face so there’s trauma. I just want it out. It doesn’t really bother me most days. Every once in a while it’ll hurt.
