I went to college and I have my bachelors degree in exercise science. I am so proud of myself for accomplishing this. Why did I choose this career path? I chose it from my own personal experience and struggles with my weight and I want to help and support others who are like me. I also felt stuck working in restaurants and retail. I couldn't go anywhere. In one of the restaurants I worked in I was trained in every single department there was and was often bounced around in several departments. Despite being able to work anywhere in that restaurant I had a hard time getting a raised and only got a raise when minimum raise went up. There were people who were doing less work and weren't cross trained in all of the departments like I was making more money than I was. The next thing would have been management but I wasn't qualified for that position or something. I don't know. I couldn't move up in any of the companies I worked in and I couldn't get a raise I'm glad I left. I still go to the restaurant I worked with a friend to eat because for the most part the food is good. It's a sit down type restaurant. Before moving here from Baton Rouge I was looking at going to college and looked at a few and finally found one that had the programs that I was interested in. After we moved here to South Carolina I started talking to the college and got enrolled and I started working at the restaurant around the same time as starting college. I struggled my way thru the associates program which was the first year and a half of college and did much better during the bachelors program which was the next year and a half. Yesterday I was looking thru one of my books trying to come up with an exercise program for myself, not only to help myself but to get practice and start training others, and came across a goal setting worksheet in the book that I am going to use on myself now. Y'all can use it for your short term and long term goals.

Short term goal #1

Goal: Get out of the 240s.

When do I want to accomplish this by? The end of April.

How will I work on this? By exercising 3-5 times a week and watching what I am eating and drinking.

Where will I work on this? At home.

How realistic is it that I will accomplish this goal? It is a very realistic goal.

How difficult is this goal? It's not that difficult.

Short term goal #2

Goal: Complete 5 virtual 5Ks.

When do I want to accomplish this by? The end of May.

How will I work on this? By picking out the virtual races I want to complete and complete one a week.

Where will I work on this? At home on the rowing machine.

How realistic is it that I will accomplish this goal? It is a very realistic goal.

How difficult is this goal? It's not that difficult.

Long term goal #1

Goal: Get out of the 200s.

When do I want to accomplish this by? The end of 2024.

How will I work on this? By exercising 3-5 times a week and watching what I am eating and drinking.

Where will I work on this? At home.

How realistic is it that I will accomplish this goal? It is a very realistic goal.

How difficult is this goal? It's slightly difficult.

Long term goal #2

Goal: Complete 24 virtual 5Ks.

When do I want to accomplish this by? The end of 2024.

How will I work on this? By picking out the virtual races and completing one a week on the rowing machine.

Where will I work on this? At home on the rowing machine.

How realistic is it that I will accomplish this goal? It is a very realistic goal.

How difficult is this goal? It's not that difficult.

Why do I want to accomplish these goals? The weight loss goals because I'm not happy with my current weight and the way my body looks. I feel sluggish and I know that I can lose weight. I have done it before. I want to complete the virtual 5Ks because I have all of the virtual race medals and bibs right now and I'm not completing them and it's a way to be more active. I plan on working on them while the kids are in school which is why I do not have more scheduled. I know there are more than 24 weeks left in 2024. When the kids are on break like they are now it is harder to get the rowing machine out. I weigh in every Saturday which means I weighed in this morning and my weight is 243.3. Getting out of the 240s by the end of April is not a giant goal or next to impossible. I have 2 more Saturday weigh ins left this month and I could lose at least 2 pounds a week which means getting out of the 240s is easy. The kids go back to school on Monday and the only time I am planning on picking them up early is on Friday for their appointment that is at 1pm.

I have been thinking about going live on my Facebook page and doing workouts. At least one or two a week. I follow one page that does weekly live workouts on Fridays. It has me thinking that I can do the same thing.

To hold myself accountable I am going to be posting on Facebook, my blogsite and YouTube.
