The kids started fall break this week and are on fall break last week. We have been fishing 3 times and hiking twice. We went fishing Sunday, Tuesday and today (Friday). Wyatt and I went hiking on Wednesday and Thursday. Wednesday's hike we went over a mile and a half and Thursday's hike was over 2 miles.
I have decided to start both of the Hocus Pocus virtual races on the first of this month. It's the only Halloween themed races I have. The goal is to have them finished by the end of this month. The kids go back to school. Part of me wants to walk in the cemetery on Halloween. I know I can get around a mile and a half if I go the outside path. The Hocus Pocus virtual race has the option of 1 mile, 5K, 10K, 13.1 miles and 26.2 miles. I am more than capable of walking 26.2 miles in one month. So far with the walks and hikes I have gone 7.15 miles in October. There was one day I didn't walk. I am also trying to finish up the Pluto race. I have 1.68 miles left in that race. I am so stinking close and I can definitely finish it up on the next walk I take. I am looking forward to hanging the medal on the holder and putting the tracker and the bib and tracker in the binder. I did finish one virtual race this month thru Yes.Fit. The medal is on it's way in the mail and I am so excited to hang that up too! Hanging up the medals and finishing the race is so exciting. It makes me feel like I accomplished something.
The weather is going to be way cooler this weekend. We have highs in the 70s and lows in the 40s on Saturday and Sunday nights. On Monday we have highs in the 70s too. I'm excited about it. I do like the long summers that start in spring and end in fall. I like the ability to start my garden in April when so many people start at the end of May to the beginning of June. I am grateful that it is October and I am still picking things out of the garden. I'm not a fan of the humidity but for the sake of the garden I will put up with it. It's part of living in the south.
The boys got P-EBT cards that was for the summer but they didn't get it until September. Elijah's came in the mail first. They both had $120 on each of their cards. It's been really helpful while they have been on fall break. I have been buying their drinks and snacks with it. Wyatt has more left than Elijah does because wanted something yesterday. I get more food money next week on Tuesday. We are fine with snacks and food and stuff. Now that it is fall I am going to look into some fall themed meals.
Tomorrow is my weekly weigh in. I am curious as to what the scale says. I don't let the scale define me or my mood. I weigh in once a week because if I weigh myself daily, or track what I eat daily, messes with my head and I become too focused on the numbers. I find that I do well for a week or two and then I gain weight because I am stressing myself out. I also don't pay attention to the scales at the doctor's office. The scale at the doctors office is a higher number than at home. The reason being is, depending on your appointment time, you have already had at least one meal, possibly 2 meals, and you've had something to drink and you are wearing clothes. All of that adds weight and your weight naturally flucuates during the day I have an appointment at the end of the month and it's at like 11:45 or something like that. I would already have eaten breakfast and have had a few things to drink. Plus I am planning on taking a shower after I take Elijah to school after his appointment.
